After months of waiting, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met Wednesday with US President Joe Biden for an official meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York at the city's Intercontinental Hotel, not at the White House. Among other things, the two are expected to discuss the constitutional crisis in Israel and its effects on relations with the United States, normalization with Saudi Arabia, Israeli-Palestinian relations, and the fear of Iran's nuclear program.

Netanyahu has not been invited to a meeting in the United States with Biden since he was sworn in as prime minister nine months ago. However, Israel Hayom recently learned that in talks between the White House and Netanyahu's office, the possibility of holding another meeting between the two is being seriously examined in 2023. This meeting will be held in Washington and will be extended and prolonged, as has been the case many times in the past.

Just before the meeting, dozens of demonstrators are outside the hotel where the US president will meet with the prime minister, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York. The meeting is scheduled for 17:15 p.m., when the two will make a statement to the media at the start of the meeting. Protesters blocked the road outside the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem.
