Prime Minister Netanyahu today asked the 80 foreign ambassadors he briefed to act against manifestations of anti-Semitism and harm to Jews in their countries. The appeal follows a huge spike in anti-Semitism worldwide since the outbreak of the war, and following hot intelligence information about actual attempts to harm Jews and their institutions in the Diaspora.
A security source told Israel Hayom that since the outbreak of the war, Israel's security organizations have foiled several attacks against Jewish and/or Israeli institutions around the world. Against the background of these attempts, the National Security Council and the Foreign Ministry issued a call to Israelis not to travel abroad if they did not have to.

Israel Hayom also learned that the prime minister discussed the issue in meetings he held with CIA Director William Burns when he became known today, and that the issue also came up in Burns' meetings with Mossad Director Dadi Barnea.
In addition to intelligence, Netanyahu chose to act diplomatically today, saying in a conversation with the ambassadors that "many of your countries have Jewish communities. They have been threatened frequently lately."

He added, "We appreciate the efforts being made to protect the Jewish communities in your countries. This is very important. We can cooperate on this. We also ask that your governments continue these efforts, because it is the right thing to do, and apparently, it is also necessary these days."
Serious anti-Semitic incidents have been recorded around the world in recent weeks, including the pursuit of "Jews" at the airport in Dagestan, the murder of a Jewish woman in France, and the suspicion that the murder of a synagogue president in Detroit was anti-Semitic. A security source told Israel Hayom that in recent months there have been dozens of attempted attacks against Jews in the Diaspora.
