The phrase "UN Shmum" was coined by David Ben-Gurion – in relation to Gaza. It happened in the 50s, when Gaza was still Gaza, an eternal nest of terror that produced terror attacks. Then there was Fedayeen - now Hamas. The exporters of terror in Gaza do not stop planning and murdering Jews.
Ben-Gurion, then defense minister, proposed occupying Gaza from Egypt in order to eradicate terrorism. Sounds painfully familiar. Gaza is the same Gaza, the considerations are the same, and the world, roughly, is the same world. "Only the daring of the Jews established the state, not the 'UN resolution,'" the old man said at the time.
The post-October 7 world as usual. The UN remains a poisonous and biased arrow that misses its historic role of promoting peace, human rights, security and development. The UN is not only Hamas' international shield, but also the poisonous arrow that is launched at little Israel, an arrow that stinks from the head. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres made it clear at the beginning of the campaign which side he was on: "The Hamas attack did not take place in a vacuum," he declared at the Security Council.
This is the spirit of the commander, and this is how all UN units operate. And they operate this way from here, from here at home. The classic example is UNRWA, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees. UNRWA, which Israel itself has cultivated over the years, not only preserves the false Palestinian narrative about "refugees," but is also a hotbed of terrorism. The organization's members, who receive their salaries from the UN, educate for terrorism, terrorize and hide Hamas weapons in their schools and shelters.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has also turned a blind eye for years to the construction of terrorist infrastructure inside and below Gaza's hospitals. He denied the presence of Hamas terrorists in Shifa and, of course, condemned Israel, declaring its action "completely unacceptable." What is acceptable? Who murdered Noa Marciano in the hospital compound? Who hid abductees there because they knew the army wouldn't attack there? Who exploited resources intended for the sick and built a terrorist infrastructure? Here the World Health Organization disappears.
And let's not forget the UN High Commissioner for Women, whose deafening silence on the sex crimes committed by Hamas murderers hurts the bones; Or UNICEF, the children's advocacy organization whose executive director refused to visit Israel but visited Gaza and published an anti-Semitic post.

Still, Israel needs to take action against the UN bodies operating here. You don't have to quit the UN to broadcast a protest; Between inaction and breaking the dishes, there is a range of possibilities that a sovereign state can do. For example, to require the UN institutions located here to pay municipal taxes and other debts, which they are not currently doing. It is also possible to act through the relevant authorities to not extend the mandate of the various UN organizations operating in Israel. Another step is the delayed deportation of UN agency employees through visa non-renewal or, worse, active deportation through immediate visa cancellation.
Israel's toolbox is full. The foreign minister and interior minister must act on the matter. Not only for national honor, but also for national security. And most importantly - for truth and justice.
