Yesterday (Monday) Christmas was celebrated around the world. Alongside the colorful and joyful celebrations shared by many celebrities online, there were also those who had to deal with less pleasant reactions.

Model (and Margie's ex) Lia Sean, who is currently in Germany visiting family for the holiday, opened her heart last night and painfully shared with her 12,<> Instagram followers the attack she grabbed to her inbox following a series of Christmas photos she shared.

"Must unpack something for a moment," she wrote at the beginning of her story. "I flew this week to celebrate Christmas with my family in Germany, and as always it felt very natural to share this part of my life as well. I never thought for a moment that I would receive such a number of shocking responses as the ones I have received in recent days in private, and honestly it broke my heart," she admitted painfully.

Sean's Story, Instagram,

"I didn't plan to comment on it at all, but I couldn't keep silent and ignore it. Today, in a time filled with hatred and loss and hopelessness, I am more proud than ever of my family's story: one side of Holocaust survivors and the other side of a Christian German. The very fact that I exist at all is a symbol of the victory of love over hatred. A story that 80 years ago would have seemed impossible is the reality I live in," she wrote, before making it clear how proud she is of her roots and family.

Sean's Story, Instagram,

"Proud to grow up in a home where a menorah is lit next to the Christmas tree, which respects and accepts and accommodates everyone. I have no intention of apologizing for who I am or where my family comes from. I think it's the most beautiful thing in the world. Take it as a small symbol of hope. The future could be more beautiful," she concluded.
