Advanced Sergeant Eliraz Gabay, 37, from Petah Tikva, a soldier in Battalion 7810, Yiftach Brigade (11), fell in battle in the central Gaza Strip, and Sgt. Liav Saada, 23, from Tiberias, a soldier in the 7107th Engineer Battalion, fell in battle in the northern Gaza Strip.
The local newspaper Kora B'Kinneret, which is distributed throughout the Lower Galilee, referred to the fall of the two fighters: "Liav Saada from Tiberias, the son of Yossi and Tami née Saada, is an IDF soldier who fell in an iron sword war. In the morning, the name of IDF soldier Eliraz Gabay, son of Aviva and Herzl, was also published. A difficult and sad day fell on the city of Tiberias when two of its best sons fell defending the homeland. May their memory be blessed."

The funeral of Sergeant Major Liav Saada will be held today at 16:00 in the cemetery in Tiberias. His family asked that media coverage be avoided.
Maj. Eliraz Gabay's friends eulogized them on social media: "An illogical morning. Sensation of a strong punch in the stomach. The half of the best and happiest woman I know is no longer with us. There is no logic when a whole falls apart, nor is there a coherent sentence to say. I just hug you, little hearted girl, hugging and loving. And to you, Hero of Israel, thank you for protecting us. And sorry you lost your life for us."

Achim Lasemel Association, which serves as a community home for Maccabi Tel Aviv fans, eulogized: "Eliraz Gabbay fought in the Gaza Strip, was hit by gunfire from our forces and spent several days at home until he could return to fight. His wife asked for his birthday, the night before he returns to Gaza, that we help her surprise him and bring him to a Maccabi game - his second love."
"We are heartbroken, speechless and only embrace the Gabbay family, which also joins the yellow bereavement family. Eliraz will be buried today at 14:00 in the military cemetery in Tiberias. We call on everyone, and the yellow fans in particular, to accompany Eliraz on his final journey. Brothers and sisters to the sergeant do not forget."
