A race soon to be a hundred years old (in 2023), the 24 Hours of Le Mans has logically had a rich history since its creation.
Stories that feed the legend of one of the greatest races in the world, if not the greatest.
A legend that does not escape tragedy like Saturday, June 11, 1955, when 82 people died following the violent crash of Pierre Levegh, also killed instantly.
More recently, it was the Dane Allan Simonsen who died in 2013 as a result of two shocks whose combined violence was established at 100 G. Fortunately, these violent shocks cause much more fear than harm thanks to security ever more advanced on the single-seaters.
