The World IQ Foil Surfing Championship came to an end today with a great achievement for the Israeli team and two Israeli women on the podium - Daniela Peleg who won the silver and Maya Morris the bronze medal.

Unlike yesterday's stormy conditions, today the cruises took place in only a light wind.

The women's quarterfinals were entirely Israeli, with four Israeli surfers out of seven.

From the first moment Maya Morris, Kati Spichkov and Daniela Peleg were at the head of the group.

The lead changed between the three along the course, but finally Morris won, followed by Peleg, who had already secured the gold medal in the U21 category (under 21).

In the semi-finals, the British Emma Wilson and the Spanish Pilar La Madrid were waiting, but they too were unable to challenge the Israeli surfers, who exchanged the lead between them, with Peleg finishing first, followed by Morris.

Both were joined by Italy's Marta Maghetti, who advanced directly to the final because she finished the preliminaries in first place.

A huge achievement.

The three competitors placed themselves on the finish line and upon leaving the Italian chose a different line than the two Israelis.

In the weak winds that were in Brest today, the decision turned out to be correct and Italy led throughout the cruise.

The two Israelis continued to fight each other and in the end Daniela Peleg came second and Maya Morris third.

In the men's category, Tom Reuveni also advanced to the semi-finals after finishing the quarter-finals in second place.

His good sailing in the semi-finals was not enough for him and he finished the heat in third place, very close to the Dutchman, who finished second, but with only fourth place overall.

Shay Bover, Chairman of the Sailing Association: "I said yesterday that we have the best team in the world and today was the final stamp for that.

Two surfers on the podium is always exciting.

We can be proud of female surfers and all surfers.

Many congratulations to the training team - Shahar Tzuberi and Stav Baimel and Gal Friedman and Oded Usher for the amazing work."
