MILAN - From the looks on the world by Letizia Battaglia and Tina Modotti to the artistic evolution of Emilio Vedova and Giovanni Boldini: these are some of the protagonists of the exhibitions of the Immaculate weekend next year.
MILAN - At Palazzo Reale the spotlight is on work in the years of Letizia Battaglia: "Storie di strada" opens on December 5th, a retrospective presenting over 300 photographs of the great artist. Set up until 19 January, the exhibition reconstructs the Battaglia's career, which has always been an intellectual counter-current, in stages and themes. Again at the Palazzo Reale, another tribute to a great contemporary Italian artist, Emilio Vedova: from 6 December to 9 February, about 60 works, some of them large, made from the 1940s to the 1990s, define the parable art of Vedova on the centenary of his birth. "17 Scratches.
Piazza Fontana 50 ° "is the exhibition scheduled at the Casa della Memoria from December 7 to 20. Exposed 17 photographs (plus one, chosen as a symbolic image of the entire route), each of which accompanied by a poetic composition, to honor the victims of the massacre, made by great authors, including Berengo Gardin, Cito, Alessi and Violini.
VICENZA - From December 6th to April 13th, a big appointment at the Palladian Basilica with the exhibition "Portrait of a Woman. The Dream of the Twenties and the Look of Ubaldo Oppi". Through Oppi's paintings, alongside those of other artists of the time (from Sironi to Casorati, from Funi to Donghi), along with objects and clothes of the time, the path documents the trends of art in the 1920s, oriented towards a "modern classicism", and the transformation of the image of woman, seen by painters as an angelic or tempting creature, now ready to live her role in society with new awareness.
BARLETTA - "Boldini. The spell of painting. Masterpieces from the Boldini Museum of Ferrara" is the exhibition hosted from 7 December to 3 May at the Pinacoteca De Nittis. About 70 works interpret the main nodes of Giovanni Boldini, from the landscape to the still life, from the city views to the portrait, in what is the first monographic ever dedicated in Puglia to the famous portraitist, colleague of Giuseppe De Nittis in Paris.
TRANI - Photography that blends with life: is the theme of "Tina Modotti. Works from the Galerie Bilderwelt", at Palazzo delle Arti Beltrani from 7 December to 6 January. About 50 photographs define the artistic evolution of Modotti, from the first works to the last, in a continuous reflection on the social and political concerns of the early 1900s.
BOLOGNA - From 7 December to 24 May, the Civic Archaeological Museum hosts "Etruscans. Journey to the land of the Rasna", an exhibition that brings together about 1000 objects from 60 museums and Italian and international institutions. The project documents how, when speaking of the Etruscan civilization, there is only one Etruria, but multiple territories, from the Po plains to Vesuvius, through Apennine and marine landscapes, along roads and river courses.
MODENA - Over 50 unpublished photographs donated by the Japanese artist Kenro Izu to the Modena Visual Arts Foundation to pay homage to one of the most important archaeological sites in the world: "Requiem for Pompei" is set up from December 7th to April 13th, an exhibition featuring images taken among the ruins, where the artist has placed, with a poetic gesture of pity, the copies of the original casts of the bodies that stand out like white human silhouettes.
NAPLES - At the MANN opens on December 5 "Thalassa. Submerged wonders of the Mediterranean" to trace the polysemantic nature of the Mare Nostrum. Set up until 9 March, the exhibition presents over 400 exhibits (including gold objects, glass cups, parts of bronze statues, objects and utensils) from Italian and international institutions, which mark the different thematic strands.
ROME - From 7 December at the Kou Gallery the exhibition of Oreste Casalini "Per semper", which focuses on the encounter between knowledge coming from different fields. The course presents works created by the artist with different materials and techniques starting from 1987, dedicated to the theme of free research. (HANDLE).
