(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, DECEMBER 13 - Angela Merkel, Giuseppe Conte and Emmanuel Macron "urge all Libyan and international parties to refrain from undertaking military actions, to genuinely commit themselves to an overall cessation of the hostilities and to resume a credible negotiation under the aegis of the United Nations ". This is stated in the joint declaration on Libya by the leaders of Germany, Italy and France. The three heads of government are therefore asking "to resume with commitment a credible negotiation under the aegis of the United Nations" reiterating their "full support to the UN and to the action of the Special Representative of the United Nations General Secretary, Ghassan Salamé, since lasting peace and stability Libya can be pursued only through a political solution ".
