The Nature and Parks Authority has compiled an annual summary, and for the first time, a site has crossed the threshold of one million travelers a year, and is considered the most popular site in the last year

Masada National Park visited about one million and 92,000 travelers in 2019, and for the first time, Masada crossed the threshold of one million travelers a year and is considered to be the most popular site in the last year, according to the Nature and Parks Authority.

During 2019, from January to December, including an estimate by the end of the year, 13,251,258 travelers hike through the National Parks and Nature Reserves. This figure reflects a 5 percent increase in travelers' visits compared to the corresponding period in 2018 (12,594,599 total travelers).

Most of the increase in travelers during 2019 occurred among foreign tourists - 3,975,237 tourists roamed the National Parks and Parks in 2019 compared to 3,599,501 tourists in the corresponding period last year, an increase of about ten percent.

After it, on the popularity ladder leads to the second place Caesarea, which dropped to second place with about a million and 32,000 travelers, with here also a million visitors broke. Third place is Banias reserve with about 730,000 travelers, Ein Gedi reserve fourth place with about 691,000 travelers, and fifth place is the City of David National Park with about 650,000 travelers. Fifth place is Tel Afek National Park with 382,000 Israeli visitors. These ratings do not include national parks such as Palm Beach and sites that are not paid for.

Night parking

In 2019 we have about 450,000 travelers on the night parking network, compared to 430,000 in 2018 in existing parking lots.

As of 2019, the Nature and Parks Authority is managing 18 paid overnight parking spaces nationwide, from Hashat Tal National Park in the north to Hai Bar Yotvata in the south. This is in addition to about 130 non-paid overnight parking spaces nationwide. This year a change was made to five existing car parks, including Judaica, Carmel Park and the builders that were closed for overnight accommodation, Palmahim and Beit Yanai, where at present you can stay at no additional cost for the entrance fee.
