Mostly sunny weather, above all in the Tyrrhenian regions, major and southern islands; variability at times on the North and the Adriatic side. These are the predictions of Edoardo Ferrara, meteorologist for 3bmeteo.com, for next Christmas. It is, given the temporal distance, of first indications, referring to the period 24-26 December. More certain, on the other hand, the bad weather appears until next Sunday, which could ruin the holiday shopping in the North and in the Tyrrhenian regions starting today.
"In the days before Christmas - explains Ferrara - Italy will be the borderland between high pressure in the Mediterranean and an Atlantic disturbance north of the Alps. On December 23rd the weather will be unstable in the South and on the Tyrrhenian regions, but already the day after the high pressure will tend to reassemble from the west, even if it will be disturbed by Atlantic currents ". These improved weather conditions will last at least until Santo Stefano. The good weather will be accompanied by a drop in temperatures, starting from Christmas Eve, which will bring them back to values closer to the average. Actually, the 3bmeteo.com meteorologist concludes, they record up to 5-6 degrees more than the temperatures of the period.
