In Hesse, the police acted against the right-wing scene. As the Hessian Ministry of the Interior announced, twelve apartments and objects were searched. An arrest warrant was executed, said Interior Minister Peter Beuth (CDU) in Wiesbaden. "Our investigators from BAO Hessen R hit the right-wing scene again."
The Special Development Organization (BAO) Hessen R with 140 investigators was set up in July to fight right-wing extremist structures in the state. It was a direct reaction to the fatal attack on the then Kassel government president Walter Lübcke (CDU).
This was shot on June 2 in his house in the Kassel district. The Attorney General assumes an extreme right-wing background. The main suspect Stephan Ernst initially admitted the crime, but then revoked his confession. His lawyer announced a new confession.
According to the ministry, the searches were carried out in the areas of the police headquarters in Central, Eastern, Northern and Southern Hesse. In addition to weapons and drugs, the officials discovered gunpowder, pyrotechnics, sulfuric acid and extreme right-wing devotional items.
The investigators of the BAO Hessen R have arrested 30 offenders of the right-wing scene in Hesse in more than 700 controls, the ministry said. Weapons, explosives and relevant devotional items had already been seized in previous actions. "We will continue to uphold this police pressure on the scene and right-wing offenders," said Beuth.
