Couple marries at the birth station of the University Medical Center Göttingen

A couple married in a clinic because of the pregnant bride's health problems. But the two are already planning another wedding - and the baptism of their twins.

Castle, beach or lighthouse: Opinions about the ideal wedding location certainly diverge - however, few will imagine a clinic as the ideal place for the "most beautiful day in life". But sometimes things don't go as expected in life. This is also the case with Maike Walz and Jan Kirschbaum: the couple who are expecting twins have given the yes word at a birth station in Lower Saxony.

The two had actually planned to get married at Plesse Castle: The wedding date had already been fixed, said the University Medical Center Göttingen. But Walz's cervical weakness was found. She came to the hospital. The 32-year-old, who is in the 29th week of pregnancy, has to lie a lot in order not to endanger her pregnancy, the message said.

It was therefore important for the couple to get married before the birth "so that everyone can start as a family under a common name". A registrar married Walz and Kirschbaum in a lounge of the university women's clinic. But the two are planning another celebration: the couple will probably also be baptizing their children at a planned church wedding.
