One of the two sisters of the former "Wham!" Singer George Michael, Melanie Panayiotou, is dead. She died on December 25, the third anniversary of her famous brother's death at the age of 55, according to her family in London.

"We can confirm that Melanie has died suddenly in a very tragic way. We just want to ask that the privacy of the family be respected during this very sad time," the family wrote in a statement released by their lawyer and the Reuters news agency is available.
