Four years after being found responsible for the death of Bobby Christina Brown, Whitney Houston's daughter, Nick Gordon, the singer's adopted son, died.

Gordon reportedly had a series of heart attacks after being taken to the hospital Wednesday by a group of friends with whom he spent New Year's Eve and was abandoned there by them.

Gordon (30) was unofficially adopted at the age of 12 by the late Whitney Houston and raised alongside her biological daughter Bobby Christina. After Houston's death in 2012, Gordon became the partner of Bobby Christina, a relationship that created a great deal of tension between the two families and was even documented in the reality series The Houstons: On Our Own.

The romantic relationship between the two was fraught with potholes and scandals, until in 2015 Bobby Christina was found unconscious in the bath, when a deadly drug compound was found in her body. Bobby Christina's family blamed Gordon for her death, claiming that in the hours leading up to her bathing, the two got into a loud fight, during which she injected a deadly drug into her body and invested her head in the bath water until she lost consciousness.

Six months after she was hospitalized in a coma, Bobby Christina died. Gordon was eventually acquitted of criminal charges in connection with her death but was sued by her family and her civil rights lawyer, where in 2016 she was convicted of her death and ordered to pay her family $ 36 million in damages.

Joe Habachi, Gordon's attorney, confirmed his death to CNN: "My heart is heavy after learning about the death of my longtime client Nick Gordon. While I can't elaborate on the specific circumstances related to his death, I can say that it breaks My heart as someone who first watched the devastating consequences of a drug addiction that destroyed a group of young friends, all beloved and of huge potential. "

Gordon appeared on Doctor Phil's program during Bobby Christina's hospitalization and was persuaded by him to enter a rehab program she retired soon after. "He worked very hard to keep his head above water and stay sober," said Abachi, "He really wanted a happy and healthy life alongside his family more than anything. My heart goes out to Nick's family and friends and all the other families out there who are dealing with the loss and heartache caused Drugs. "

Junior Walker, Gordon's brother, said he talked to him the night before his death and eulogized on Facebook: "Why I had to lose my brother on New Year's Eve," weeped his loss. "We love you no matter what and stay strong for you."

Gordon's death comes about five years after Bobby Christina's death and about eight years after Whitney Houston's death, which, like her daughter, was found dead in a bathtub at the age of 48, after apparently taking a fatal overdose.
