(ANSA) - CASTRIGNANO DEL CAPO (LECCE), JANUARY 2 - 60 immigrants have been identified and rescued by the harbor master's office 14 miles off the coast of Leuca, in Salento. The migrants - 50 men, five women and five children - were aboard a sailing boat, 13 meters long, which sailed with difficulty due to the adverse weather and sea conditions. The migrants, who according to the first investigations are said to be Iraqis, once arrived at the port were welcomed by Crocerossa staff and visited by Usmaf doctors. Then, they were transferred to the Otranto first reception center.
