Professional order, from October to March PM10 never decreased (ANSA)

"The situation of air pollution in Turin continues to be critical and is a source of concern for possible damage to health: it must be addressed seriously and promptly". This was stated by the Turin Medical Association, commenting on the high concentrations of PM10 recorded in the last few days, which also affected other regions. "The improvement in the concentrations of particulates in the last two years - say the doctors - seems substantially attributable to the increase in rainfall. In any case, in the semesters October-March, which has always been the most difficult period, the average concentrations of Pm10 have not decreased. In Turin in 2018 there were over 120 days with unhealthy air, and in the last report 'Urban ecosystem', it was 88th out of 104 Italian cities for environmental performance ". "Exposure to smog - they remark - increases the risk of lung cancer and reduces life expectancy.

Recent research has identified possible correlations also with diabetes or premature births ".
