(ANSA) - LUCCA, JANUARY 8 - The warehouse of a paint factory in SanFilippo (Lucca) was destroyed in a fire. The flames, possibly caused by a short circuit, sent up about a thousand square meters of the shed adjacent to the sales department. The alarm was raised by residents awakened by strong outbursts from the stake. Four teams arrived from the place, from Lucca, Pistoia and Massa (MassaCarrara) who managed to contain the fire and prevent the flames from reaching the warehouse of paints and solvents. The paint factory employs over twenty people. Following the high cloud of smoke that arose from the fire, the mayor of Lucca Alessandro Tambellini signed an ordinance in which citizens resident in a band of 500 meters from the warehouse are advised to keep their windows closed, especially if should smell strong smoke.
