Friday is series (and movies too). On the eve of the weekend, the Parisian offers a selection of fictions, films, documentaries not to be missed on online video platforms. On the program this week, a series of breathtaking drag-queen, and another rather successful around the universe of "Jason Bourne".

The series that feels good: "AJ and The Queen"
With this new series, Netflix hopes to ride the success of "RuPaul's Drag Race", a cult show in the United States. In view of the first four episodes, the American platform has had 1,000 reasons to embark on the adventure. "AJ and The Queen" is a little nugget that does a lot of good. Dumped and especially swindled by her ex, Ruby Red, a very young and crazy drag queen of the TV host Ophra Winfrey, sees all her dreams overnight. Played by the brilliant RuPaul, she has no choice but to go on tour in her old motorhome. But barely gone, she discovers a stowaway: AJ, a 10-year-old girl lost in character with a strong character and whose mother is a prostitute and drug addict.
Here they are, despite everything, both embarked on a road trip through the United States. It's funny, intelligent, singing, full of good feelings and the actors are as excellent as they are endearing. We love !

The film that goes a hell of a train: "Snowpiercer"
In the future, the earth, victim of a new ice age, sees its inhabitants dying of cold. The last survivors have locked themselves in a train, the Transperceneige, which circles the planet. On board, each compartment is partitioned: at the bottom, the poor, in the middle, the soldiers, at the front, the creator of the train and his court of the rich. But this social division explodes when a handful of non-ranks escape: they will have to go back to the front, with bloody battles in wagons where surprising surprises await them ...
Remarkably adapted from the French comics of Lob and Rochette by Bong Joon-ho, the man who won the Palme d'Or in Cannes for "Parasite", "Snowpiercer" turns out to be inventive, because each wagon contains a universe delirious - a school class, a food factory, a nightclub ... The film goes, like the train, at 300 an hour. A real nugget.

The derivative series of "Jason Bourne": "Treadstone"
The literary and cinematographic saga "Jason Bourne" invests the small screen with "Treadstone". This series, named after the ultra-secret program that formatted the original hero as a murderer super-spy, takes place between 1973 and today. If Bourne's name is never mentioned there, we find in "Treadstone" the spirit of films with new spies whose killer personality is awakened after being put to sleep for years.

The Christmas Tale, Dark Side: "A Christmas Carol"
Steven Knight, the creator of "Peaky Blinders" and "Taboo" revisits the tale of Charles Dickens in a mini-series in three parts. Extrapolating from the original writings, he delivers here a particularly dark and resolutely adult version of this story on the concept of redemption. The main character, Mr. Scrooge, is a wealthy rigid, stingy, unsocial and pessimistic businessman who cannot stand Christmas. He is then visited by three spirits who torment him to confront him with his abominable behavior. Guy Pearce impresses in this role with his expressions as hard as his heart.

The marivaudage which surprises: "The faithful man"
Abel and Marianne (Louis Garrel and Laetitia Casta) have lived together for three years. One day, Marianne announces to Abel that she is leaving him. Ten years later, the two former lovers meet again and Abel decides to reconquer Marianne. But her son, 10 years old, will cause trouble. Like Eve, the lovely sister-in-law of Marianne (Lily-Rose Depp)… Voice-overs, a love triangle, marivages between beautiful and brilliant characters in Haussmannian apartments…
"L'Homme fidèle" has everything of a certain sentimental and literary French cinema. And yet, from the first scene, the film surprises us. Interpreted with great elegance, the feature has a few memorable sequences.

Political comedy: "The Brink"
Dating back to 2015, "The Brink" is a comedy that has not had the success it deserves since it was canceled after a season of 10 episodes. It is time to dive back into it today, the series resonating in a certain way with geopolitical current events. "The Brink" imagines a world on the brink of nuclear war when a military man takes power in Pakistan and wants to wipe Israel off the map. This ignites concerns, especially from the feverish Indian neighbor. Two Americans find themselves in the process of being able to save the situation, but also prove to be incompetent of each other: the American secretary of state (played by Tim Robbins) and an employee of the American embassy in Islamabad in Pakistan ( Jack Black).
Dark humor and a comedy with a backdrop are part of this fiction that multiplies gags and absurd aftershocks. Tim Robbins is particularly good in his role, where Jack Black does not surprise by staying in his comfort zone.

The animated film that dazzles you: "Terra Willy"
A little boy who lives in a spaceship with his parents finds himself ejected when the capsule crosses an asteroid field. He lands on an unknown planet, without his family, but with Buck, a robot who speaks with the malicious voice of Edouard Baer and will protect him from the dangers. And these are multiple: poisonous plants, bizarre and threatening creatures, crevices, hailstorm, thunder ...
"Terra Willy" relentlessly alternates funny moments and disturbing sequences with some frantic chases. We are especially impressed by the beauty of the 3D decorations: desert landscapes or flourishing vegetation in 50 shades of green, purple, blue ... This "Terra Willy" will amaze us.
