From the 'video-headset' that works as a mobile video communication system designed for professionals, operators and volunteers from the world of rescue, to the app that allows tourists to identify where to be hosted for a dinner at home in the city they are visiting; from the device to identify sex, age, emotions and interpret the gaze thanks to the images of a video camera, to those that detect the level of pollution in closed environments or the presence of a person, even if this is absolutely immobile. These are the proposals of some of the 47 Italian start-ups, from 13 regions, present at the Consumer Electronics Show (Ces) in Las Vegas (until tomorrow).

For this third mission, Tilt - founded by Area Science Park and the private Teorema and which organizes the mission in the USA - and Ice Agency, bring young companies operating in the Smart home, Wearable, Health & Wellness, Vehicle and eCommerce / enterprise sectors to Las Vegas. . For the first time, then, explains the president of Teorema, Michele Balbi, "there are 9 female-led start-ups and 9 greens and we have covered the 13 clusters proposed at Ces".

The goal, he underlines, is to offer new Italian excellences the opportunity to introduce themselves to international investors and companies. In three years, recalls Stefano Casaleggi, general director of Area Science Park, the Trieste national research body, "we have invested 1 million euros, presenting about 150 companies at the Fair". Over time, therefore, the Italian presence has grown both in "qualitative and quantitative" terms.

Tilt and Ice organized the 'Investors Night' in the Italian pavilion (about 800 square meters). An evening attended by around 250 investors and companies to get to know the nursery of Made in Italy talents. An appointment that saw "the growing interest in our start-ups from investors not only as potential investors but also as operational partners of our creativity", Balbi said.

The next step, Casaleggi concludes, is to try to "broaden the internationalization and the vision of the markets to invest in, focusing on e-health and sensors and looking not only at the USA but also at Germany and Israel".
