In Versailles, a Lego exhibition that breaks bricks

2020-01-13T16:14:15.520Z

Until January 25, 2020, the Richaud space presents Lego creations based on mythical films. An exhibition to discover with the family.

It is certainly lower than the original, but (almost) as much respect. With its 5.20 m in height, 150,000 bricks and 150 kg for six hours of assembly, The Eiffel Tower is the centerpiece of “Ciné en briques”, the Lego exhibition, which will be held until January 25 in Versailles. . It represents a scene from Dangerously Yours. James Bond, in the guise of Roger Moore, chasing the evil May Day on the stairs of the Iron Lady.

There, as in the twenty or so “dioramas” (scenes) reconstructed along the route, you can have fun looking for the details of the story. Batman, Harry Potter, the Visitors, the Fifth Element, Jurassic Park… Films that speak mainly to the big ones, but also fascinate the little ones. We giggle in front of Jean-Claude Dusse hanging from the chairlift in the Bronzés ski. We admire the World of Nemo and its hundreds of multicolored fish. An entire room is dedicated to the Star Wars universe.

For each scene, from a few hundred to several tens of thousands of bricks were used. Lucas, 5, is captivated by the tyrannosaurus from Jurassic Park. "It's very well done," admits his mother. "Oh look! There, it's Pirates of the Caribbean, a great film! You will see, when you are older, we will watch it together! Says a father to his son.

On the walls, photos by artist Samsofy bring a touch of humor, featuring Lego characters immersed in a film universe. We go from Big Blue to Romeo and Juliet. Batman dries his capes on a washing line, and Crocodile Dundee captures Haribo candy!

Barbara and Arnaud came from Livry-Gargan (Seine-Saint-Denis). Lego, they are fans and have several thousand at their home. They salute the organizers of the Versailles exhibition. “It's very original to combine Lego and cinema, recognizes Barbara, a teacher. It creates an intergenerational bond. And then these kinds of exhibitions show children that they don't always have to follow the instructions, it pushes you to be creative. ”
