(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 22 - The Tunisian Ambassador MoezSinaoui wrote to the President of the Senate Maria Elisabetta Alberti Casellati to express his "dismay" after learning of the "regrettable episode" in which Senator MatteoSalvini intercomed to a Tunisian family in Bologna. "An unlawful provocation, done illegally, without respect for the private home of a Tunisian family, ostentatiously disclosed to the public", the ambassador wrote, according to what was anticipated by the diplomat at ANSA. "I expressed my dismay to President Casellati, because this gesture comes from a member of the Senate, a high institution in Italy, with which Tunisia has a long history of friendship," said Sinaoui.
In this affair "a Tunisian family has been stigmatized, and we do not want members of our community to be illegitimately stigmatized in an election campaign," added the Ambassador.
