(ANSA) - ROME, JANUARY 26 - The Minister of Health of China, Ma Xiaowei, said that the spreading capacity of the coronavirus seems to become stronger and that the risks of its mutation are not yet clear. In a press conference, Ma said that the incubation period is between 1 and 14 days and the number of cases is likely to continue to increase. According to the health minister, the new coronavirus is also contagious during incubation, which is different from SARS. The authorities' knowledge of the new virus, added Ma, is limited and therefore there are no clear risks posed by its mutation. The minister concluded the conference with a commitment to "live up to people's expectations" and to increase transparency. To that end, authorities have said there will be a press conference every morning.
