Ricky Martin asks the governor of Puerto Rico to resign

The artist Ricky Martin requested this week the resignation of the governor of Puerto Rico, Wanda Vázquez, for his management of the earthquake crisis on the island, after knowing that they were not distributed to the damaged food stores stored in an area near the tremors

"It has been 17 days since the tragedy touched Puerto Rico again and 17 days ago where there are boys and girls, men, women literally living on the street without a roof, without stability because nothing progresses, because nothing comes true," said the singer. "Men, women, volunteers, the third sector, the private company, they are doing the work that you have to do," said the artist in a very indignant tone with the head of the local Executive.

Martin said that information "comes from people with a lot of credibility" that suggests "you are not honest enough."

"The camps are still there and people are still sleeping there without a roof and, to top it off, summon the measured ones today to take photos with the victims, but you can't ask questions," he said.

"There are no legal mechanisms for you to get out and pay for everything that is causing us to suffer, but the good news is that in November elections come and the people will rebel more than ever," concluded the artist, who these days is in Puerto Rico working on the promotion of his latest work.

The Puerto Rican Police launched tear gas at the end of Thursday to disperse the people demonstrating in San Juan to request the resignation of the governor for the attention to the victims of the earthquakes.
