Behind him is the finest solo album "In the Forest of Gray Turquoise" from 2012 and a poetry song album is appreciated as part of the "teacher" trio. Alongside these he produced cultural personalities such as Judith Ravitz, Matti Caspi and Yoni Rechter and collaborated on dozens of musical projects in Israeli music. But all the experience he gained didn't prepare him to deal with the clip for the song "Alone In A Room," and even those who knew all the professions of the busy musician couldn't anticipate the musical line of the new single.

"All the possible accidents have happened to us," says the musician on the clip, which hardly ever came to fruition due to the forces he and the director found it difficult to explain. "The material we took was not named afterwards. We had to complete materials and photography days. There were things we couldn't recover because they depended on things unrelated to us. When we had finished editing, the computer was stolen where the materials were ... We were able to recover, but almost half of the material was lost."

It's certainly hard to evade the feeling that this is the way of the universe to imply something to you.

"Absolutely. This song was the first to be written for the album and it went through all kinds of weird incarnations along the way. Let's just say 'The Maze', the first single, slipped out easily, and it has some interest that is resolved over time."

If that song resembled a quiet and thoughtful walk, the newer single is reminiscent of a triple nature party. But Luttringer explores music beyond style. "I'm not experiencing a big difference," he says of the new e-dance section he released. "I don't like clear stylistic definitions and look for contrasts all the time. This also happens in the new song. It's dancey, but in the middle there's a near-avant-garde sax breakdown. I don't do it for confusion or provocation. I just love a lot of music."

It's not self-evident that in an era of instant three-minute hits, Luttringer has experienced a career boom without compromising creativity and musical curiosity. "I try to communicate as directly as I can," he says, "even if it doesn't suit our times. When there is a great deal of something people will want something different, but at least in the environment I'm in there are a lot of amazing alternatives. ".

Alon Luttringer will perform on February 22 at the Anav Center in Tel Aviv, hosting June Richter.
