Airbus settles 3.6 billion fine to close investigations

Airbus has agreed to pay a total fine of 3.6 billion euros to France, Great Britain and the United States to close the corruption investigations to which it is subject. According to the details of the agreement, unveiled today in Paris, the European aviation giant will pay out 2.1 billion euros to France, 984 million euros to Great Britain and 526 million euros to the United States. The investigations concerned, in particular, "irregularities" on aircraft sales contracts.
