SIENA - 'The dream of Lady Florence Phillips - The Johannesburg Art Gallery Collection': this exhibition hosts from June 13th to September 13th 2020 at the Santa Maria della Scala in Siena.
The exhibition, promoted by the Municipality, presents a selection of the masterpieces preserved at the Johannesburg Art Gallery, born thanks to lady Phillips, wife of the mining magnate Sir Lionel Phillips. About sixty works that will arrive in Siena, including oils, watercolors and graphics, to retrace over a century of international art history, from the mid-nineteenth century to the second half of the twentieth century, through its major interpreters: Van Gogh, Degas, Monet , Cézanne, Matisse, Modigliani, Turner, Rodin, Moore, Lichtenstein, Derain, Pissarro, Corot, Sargent, Sisley, Bacon, Rossetti, Warhol, Signac, Picasso and many others.
