Bruno Salomone, Elie Semoun, Olivier de Benoist… three dull shows (to laugh)

2020-02-02T13:46:19.760Z

The new shows of these three comedians have left us (a little, a lot).

Bruno Salomone, Elie Semoun, Olivier de Benoist… Here are three highly anticipated shows at the start of the year. But for our journalists, these three one-man shows are three disappointments.

Bruno Salomone, without tail or head

With "The show of the future", Bruno Salomone announces nothing less than "the first one-man show of anticipation". Ambitious. The comedian camps there, in the near future, an animator with the false airs of Ardisson who receives on his tray a myriad of chroniclers and guests all more whimsical than each other. The opportunity for him to surf on current topics (especially ecology) with very uneven success. Very gifted on the vocal level - he changes characters, and therefore of voice, with a stunning mastery - Bruno Salomone sincerely wets the jersey to bring this gallery of zigotos to life.

Problem: jokes very often fall flat. Symbol of this embarrassment, the presence among the characters of a humorist chronicler who counts his flaws, "running gag" all the more tiring as the level of his valves (deliberately) not funny differs very little from the others, supposed to be . The culmination of embarrassment: an endless parade of animals which, thanks to a futuristic translation system, can speak on the microphone of the animator of the future. A cat, a pig, a dolphin… The endless bestiary would almost make us regret a visit to the agricultural fair.

EDITOR'S NOTE: 1/5

"The show of the future" , Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. at the Palais des Glaces (10th arrondissement). Then on tour throughout France.

Olivier de Benoist, no surprise

The stupid wife, the stepmother who is just as much and whom he would like to see disappear in excruciating pain, the children who are too bulky ... themes used to the end by Olivier de Benoist in his previous shows . Let the comedian once again invite in his “Little Last”. Is it too much? Clearly. Even if the joke still works, squeaky and full of assumed bad faith, we would have liked a little renewal.

A voice carrying and a rugby player, the humorist swings his valves with a machine gun flow, jubilant to the many bursts of laughter from the room. But in the chain of these good words, we border on indigestion and the whole lack of relief. De Benoist forages, passing from one subject to another without a guide wire. The public is won over by this smart, effective, cream pie humor. But with such a sense of formula, he could have done so much better. He took the highway, fast and safe, while the country roads are so much more charming. We come out of there as after yet another cake of kings at the end of January. It's good, but it's too much.

EDITOR'S NOTE: 2/5

"The little one" , until March 14, 2020, at La Nouvelle Eve, 25, rue Pierre-Fontaine (IXth arrondissement). Thursday to Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. Then on tour throughout France.

Elie Semoun, without finesse

The show begins with a bit of old-fashioned music from these old-fashioned circuses that go from town to town with their loudspeaker vans. Élie Semoun arrives on stage in the clothes of a Monsieur Loyal ready to present his "Monsters" who give their name to his 7th one-man-show. "But beware, they don't come from another planet, they are monsters like you, like me. There may be some here. And to continue with his first valve: "Is there an assassin in the room? A rapist? A pedophile? A… fan of Vianney? "

We left for a parade of sketches featuring these famous "monsters" of everyday life. The first of them? A man in his fifties perched on a stool, his back well up in the air, not delighted with the idea of having a medical examination. "Colonoscopy, digital rectal examination, you call it what you want: the only difference I see with sodomy is that it is reimbursed by the Social Security. As an entry point, we have already done more.

Co-written notably with Muriel Robin, the sketches are generally well oiled. But from the whole spectacle transpires a rather unpleasant bitterness. The characters follow one another, uneven. We meet singles followers of a dating site for racists, an unfaithful man trying to win back his ex, another desperate for the actions of his wife nymphomaniac ...

Despite cheerful flashes here and there, his way of sketching society often seems dated. The not very elegant way of evoking the growing success of his colleagues (sisters in this case) of the stand-up finishes leaving a rather bitter taste in the mouth.
