For more than a week, 4000 workers have taken turns night and day to deliver the establishment on time.

The bet was ambitious. Ten days after the start of construction in Wuhan, home of the coronavirus epidemic, a first hospital will open its doors this Monday, February 3.

According to the Chinese daily "People's Daily", the construction of the first establishment, the Huoshenshan hospital ("Hospital of the god of fire"), was completed this Sunday. Built thanks to the assembly of prefabricated, the 25,000 m² establishment has a thousand beds.

A second hospital opened on February 5

The second largest hospital, the “Leishenshan Hospital”, which pays homage to the “God of lightning”, has 1500 places. It is scheduled to open on February 5.

If the outcome of this work impresses, China is not at its first attempt. Already in 2003, the Chinese authorities had built the Xiaotangshan Hospital in Beijing in seven days. The establishment had made it possible to treat certain patients with SARS.
