(ANSA) - BOLZANO, FEBRUARY 7 - The penalties requested in court in Bolzano amount to about 300 years of imprisonment, armored for the occasion, for the 63 anarchists accused of the riots that occurred at the Brenner on May 7, 2016 during a demonstration against the so-called wall anti-migrant announced at the time from Vienna and never realized.
The trial before the judge Walter Pelino, therefore, is proceeding towards the conclusion, which takes place with a shortened rite, chosen by the accused. The prosecutor Andrea Sacchetti has formulated requests for conviction for the 63 defendants, each accused of various crimes: the most serious accusations are those of devastation and exile. Requests range from a few months to a maximum of ten years. Other hearings will now follow, reserved for defense and replies, before reaching the ruling in the coming weeks.
