Edith González's last film will be released next March

In 2017, the late Edith González worked in an altruistic way in what was her last film, which will be released in March this year.


Despite fighting a severe illness, Edith González , who died on June 14, 2019, never stopped her pace of life and continued adding projects in which she worked with all the enthusiasm.

In 2017, the actress shot a movie, which was her last work on the big screen and which she joined thanks to her friend Lorena Velázquez .

Under the direction of Luis Bárcenas , Edith participated in an altruistic way in the 20-year-old's first opera, entitled "An honest feeling in the dungeon of oblivion." This project will be released this year, as announced by Oscar Ganem , the producer of the tape, through social networks.

It will be the UNAM International Film Festival, held between March 5 and 15 in Mexico, the venue where the expected film will be released.

During an interview for the Mexican television show "Ventaneado", the young man revealed that the actress participated in the film during 2017 in support of her directorial and screenwriter debut.

"Sadly it was Edith's last film. In it she has one of the leading roles. Edith's character is the one who starts the story, it's like the starting point," said Bárcenas.

The filmmaker stressed that, despite being sick at the time of filming, the famous always stood out for her professionalism and her enthusiasm to work. "I had a very nice experience with Edith because she obviously had much more experience than me, in everything," he said.

"Edith had the disease when she made the movie, but she had an impressive vitality. At all times she was smiling. She wanted to work, to collaborate, to listen to opinions. She gave advice, suggestions. Working with her was a very nice element in a work team, "Bárcenas said.

The director said that the film touches two important themes, The United Fruit Company (a US multinational commercial firm, founded in 1899, that produced and commercialized tropical fruits grown in Latin America) and the banana mafia that existed in Latin America.

In this context, in the film Edith plays a successful painter named Isabelle Batún, who performs a work that hides a great mystery and asks him to get rid of it.

"He has this inexplicable painting and leaves his daughter the commitment to investigate what it is," he said, about the film in which the character of the actress dies and leaves her orphan daughter.
