A British reality tourist and star was arrested by Maldives police who tried to wrap her in a towel and drag her off the beach after she was spotted walking around the beach in a bikini. Cecilia Jastrzambska, a 26-year-old travel blogger, has been documented shouting at police "You are sexually assaulting me" while trying to cover her with a towel and handcuff her on the small island of Eposi in the Capo Atoll area. The video taken last Thursday became viral on social networks mainly due to police officers' violent behavior towards her, which was not received by the viewers. The local media reports that police were called to the scene a little after 5pm after a citizen reported to the tourist that "she was dressed in inappropriate clothing" And that she "acts like a drunk."

It was later learned that the tourist is a well-known figure in the UK, having appeared in reality shows "First Date" and "Ninja UK". Cecilia Jastrzambska, a parliamentary adviser in the 26-year-old British House of Representatives, spent an hour and a half in custody for "prohibited exposure" and released under warning. Police suspect the woman was acting under the influence of alcohol.

The release of the arrest video forced Maldives Police Commissioner Mohammed Hamed to publicly apologize. He said: "It seems that the incident in the police where our police have restrained a tourist has been treated improperly. I apologize to the tourist and the public. The challenge I took for myself is to assist the police services profession and we are working on it."

Visitors are not allowed to wear bikinis in residential areas of the island only 800 meters long. Cecilia was allegedly arrested after walking around the street in Bikini and passing through a mosque and school.

"Local island tourists are asked to respect the community's cultural sensitivity and local regulations by restricting the wearing of swimwear in certain parts of the island where local communities live," police said. "The incident investigation is ongoing to ensure that 'disproportionate steps' are not implemented again in such situations. ".
