Syria: UN, 700 thousand IDLIB-Aleppo displaced persons

About 700 thousand Syrian civilians have been displaced in the north-western region of Idlib, which has been hit for more than two months by the Russian-government offensive against Turkey-controlled anti-regime militants. (HANDLE)


(ANSA) - BEIRUT, FEBRUARY 10 - Around 700 thousand civilians have been displaced in the northwestern region of Idlibin, invested for more than two months by the Russian-government offensive against anti-regime militias controlled by Turkey. The UN Office for Humanitarian Coordination (Ocha) reports that 689 thousand civilians have left their homes or refugee camps in the Idlib region and in some districts of the Aleppo border region since 1 December. The UN recalls that 80% of these displaced people are women and children.
