It was a secret kept like a safe. The opening date of The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, renamed in French the Oscar Museum, is strategic information: Tom Hanks announced it live from the Oscars for December 14th! Such an event presupposes a setting in motion of the world of cinema which supports and finances this first museum of which dreamed in the 1920s Mary Pickford, actress, producer and businesswoman born in 1892 in Toronto and died in 1979 in Santa Monica. It's not for nothing that The Academy Museum is located in the heart of the Miracle Mile, the Californian equivalent of the Museum Mile of New York. Opposite the Petersen Automotive Museum coated with designer facades in steel scrolls on a bright red background, to celebrate its 20 years in 2014. Next to the Lacma (Los Angeles County Museum of Art), the great art museum of Los Angeles : the extension designed by Renzo Piano in 2010 with its red tubes and palm trees integrated into the architecture is its immediate neighbor.
