Recall: "Fresh & Cold" ice cube container
On his website, specialty items dealer Thomas Philipps calls the "Fresh & Cold" ice cube tray for 21 cubes back to the branches. "In order to rule out a possible health risk , existing containers should no longer be used," says a press release.

Studies have shown that the dangerous dye rhodamine B dissolves when ice cubes are prepared and thus gets into food. According to the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety, the active substance is classified as carcinogenic .

Consumers are encouraged to return the item to the store. The containers were sold from August 2018 and are commercially available under the EAN number 8711252980935. Upon return, customers will be reimbursed the purchase price. The manufacturer apologizes for the inconvenience.
