CD Projekt Red has apparently not yet played its trump card and promises sensational graphics in "Cyberpunk 2077". Empty words or is there really something behind it?

CD Projekt Red has apparently not yet played its trump card and promises sensational graphics in "Cyberpunk 2077". Empty words or is there really something behind it?

  • "Cyberpunk 2077" will be released on September 17, 2020.
  • The CD Projekt Red video game was supposed to be released in April.
  • The pictures shown so far are said not to bring the graphic splendor over yet.

When new games come onto the market, fans take a critical look at the graphics. That shouldn't be any different with "Cyberpunk 2077", the previous trailers and screenshots promise a true graphic splendor. But according to John Mamais, his studio director at CD Projekt RED in Kraków, the images have so far not shown the full potential of the video game.

"Cyberpunk 2077" should look even more beautiful than previously thought

In an interview with the technology portal Onmsft, Mamais drops that nobody has seen in public how good "Cyberpunk 2077 *" really looks. So in the studio there is always talk of the real-time lighting system that no one has seen in its full glory. "It will look more breathtaking than anything we've seen before," said Mamais.

But not only the graphics of "Cyberpunk 2077" should knock the players off their chairs. The sound is also very special, Mamais explained in the interview. A CD Programm Red sound programmer has developed a new acoustic system that can produce realistic noises. The sound changes depending on where the player is. This should please fans with a Dolby Atmos system in particular.

What has to be kept of the promises has to be shown when " Cyberpunk 2077 " is released. The video game was supposed to come out on April 16, 2020. But CD Projekt Red postponed the release of the video game by several months to September 17, 2020 * in January. You want to take more time to perfect the action RPG.

Great promises lead to great expectations - and disappointments

Fans of "Cyberpunk 2077" hope that the developers actually take the time to keep the many promises in the end. There are enough publishers and studios that have announced a lot and delivered little.

The latest negative example is Blizzard, that " Warcraft 3: Reforged " hit the wall properly. The full-bodied promises at Blizzcon 2018 are now flying around the ears of the developer. Instead of new rendered cutscenes, there are only boring in-game scenes. Even the user menu presented at the time did not make it into the remaster. The missing multiplayer functions are particularly annoying. As reported by ingame.de, disappointed players can now request their money back *.

The development studio Hello Games showed in 2016 how you can turn the tide after a catastrophic player release. At that time, the studio released the long-awaited space game "No Man's Sky" and promised a real paradise for sci-fi fans in advance. At the start it was rather a boring and ugly duckling. Instead of giving up, the developers decided to work hard for the next four years. Over the years they have been releasing new extensions and improvements for the video game and now " No Man's Sky " has become a beautiful swan that fans love.
