Cancer pathogen: five foods with cancer-promoting effects
1. Sausage and ham
Since 2015, the WHO has classified processed meat products such as salami or Kassler as carcinogenic - that is, carcinogenic - as the Stiftung Warentest reports. All smoked, salted and salted meat products fall into this category and increase the risk of colorectal cancer : If you eat more than 50 grams of sausage a day, you increase your risk of colorectal cancer by as much as 18 percent. The WHO therefore recommends eating processed meat products as rarely as possible.
2. Red meat
According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer, red meat such as minced meat or steak falls into the "probably carcinogenic" category. Frequent consumption could favor colon, pancreatic and prostate cancer , says Stiftung Warentest. Red meat includes pork, beef, lamb and goat meat. The current recommendation: Only eat a maximum of 500 grams per week.

3. Milk
Up to 0.8 liters of milk a day has a positive effect: This amount of milk is said to protect against colon cancer and breast cancer. But whoever drinks too much milk reverses this effect: the risk of prostate cancer in men increases if they drink more than 1.25 liters of milk a day .

4. Sugar
Sugar in itself is important for our body: it is converted into energy in the body, which we burn when we are physically and mentally active. But the way we consume sugar makes the decisive difference: So you should prefer natural sugar sources such as fruit (contains fructose, i.e. fructose) or whole grains (contains glucose) and not industrially processed sugar. The latter is contained in sweets, pastries or ready-made products such as frozen pizza and increases the risk of becoming overweight. Obesity is the third largest carcinogenic factor .
5. Alcohol
Oral cancer, esophagus, throat, liver, colon and breast cancer: alcohol increases the risk of these cancers enormously. It doesn't matter how much you drink - the WHO warns: " Alcohol increases the risk of cancer in any amount" .
