The surroundings of the National Congress were dyed green again by the handkerchiefs of thousands of people who gathered on Wednesday to claim the legalization of abortion again.

This new "pañuelazo" is held to commemorate Green Action Day for the Right to Abortion and also includes marches the main cities in the interior of the country and abroad.

Those who promote the National Campaign for Safe and Free Legal Abortion ensure that their claim "is the great debt of democracy" and repeat that "the project is on the streets", despite the fact that the initiative was rejected by the Senate during the session held on August 9, 2018.

In this regard, Dora Barrancos, a sociologist and part of the Advisory Council of the President, considered the new handkerchief to represent "a synergistic act" of the project "for the first time the Executive Branch will send."
