According to a report released Wednesday in Kazakh media, Israir will operate direct flights between Tel Aviv and Almaty.
According to the report, the decision was made today, and this May, direct flights to the destination will begin. The Kazakh company ceased operations on this line years ago.
Kazakhstan borders Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Mongolia and is considered an area for nature walks with spectacular and virgin landscapes. Direct flights to Kazakhstan will allow travelers from Israel to travel by car to Kyrgyzstan, which has become popular in recent years.
Two flights were required to reach this city or Kazakhstan. The recommended season for visiting the country is from June to September, as the winter months in the country are particularly cold.
Meisair said in response: "Israir's CEO and company representatives did visit Kazakhstan in order to look into direct flights. All permits required to operate these flights have not yet been received.
