(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, FEBRUARY 19 - The UN envoy to Syria, Geir Pedersen, has warned members of the UN Security Council against an increasingly probable escalation of the conflict in the northeastern Middle Eastern country. Meanwhile, Russia, one of the permanent members of the Security Council, has said it is opposed to the UN declaration of fire in Syria.
