(ANSA) - TEHERAN, FEBRUARY 23 - As expected, the conservatives obtained control of the assembly in the Iranian parliamentary elections with at least 221 seats out of 290: this is what emerges from the final results of the vote. According to Farsnews, the ex-general of the Pasdaran and former mayor of Tehran, Mohammad BagherQalibaf, obtained 1,265,287 votes and will most likely be the next president of Parliament. The other two leading figures of the conservatives follow: Mostafa Mir-Salim, former minister of culture in the 1990s, and Morteza Agha-Tehrani, with less than 900 thousand votes each.
