(ANSA) - TEHERAN, FEBRUARY 23 - The turnout in the Iranian parliamentary elections last Friday was 42.57%: Interior Minister Abdolréza Rahmani Fazli announced it.
This is the lowest turnout for a ballot of the generation since the proclamation of the Islamic Republic in 1979.
Before the vote, the Ministry of the Interior indicated that in each of the ten legislative elections held since 1979, the turnout had always exceeded 50%.
