(ANSA) - VENICE, MARCH 1 - The bells of the churches of the Diocese of Venice, closed for public celebrations, rang at expanses this morning as a "cry of hope" in relation to the coronavirus emergency. The indication was given by the Patriarch Francesco Moraglia with the beginning of Lent.
Moraglia celebrated the function, in the mere presence of the community of the seminary, from the main altar of the basilica della Salute in Venice, the church erected in the lagoon to remember the plague that struck the city between 1630 and 1631. Otherwise the Patriarch addressed a prayer entrusted to the Madonna della Salute.
