(ANSA) - BARI, MARCH 03 - The Court of Cassation has definitively confirmed the conviction of six defendants for the collapse of the building in via Roma in Barletta, which took place on 3 October 2011, in which four workers and a warehouse who were in a factory died on the ground floor of the building.
For some of them, however, lepene will have to be re-quantified because some crimes, such as culpable injuries, are now growing worse.
The Supreme Court also confirmed the acquittal of Seidei 14 defendants, rejecting the appeals of the Public Prosecutor's Office and civilian departments. Compensation for damages to the specialists, dozens of victims' families, associations, unions, the Puglia Region and the Municipality of Barletta have also been confirmed.
According to the accusatory hypothesis, the collapse was caused by the demolition work of the building adjacent to the one where there was a sheet metal factory in which four workers and the daughter of the owner died and nine other people were injured.
