The 40-year-old man returned to Ezeiza last Wednesday on a direct flight from Italy and was not detected as a suspected case of coronavirus at airport controls.
Just this Sunday he arrived by his own means at the Swiss Swiss clinic with symptoms of fever and breathing problems. That is why all the passengers traveling with him went to their homes as if nothing had happened.
But from the confirmation that this man suffers from coronavirus everything changed. And that is why Border Health is now notifying the two passengers who were sitting in front of this person, as well as those from behind and those on the sides, to be quarantined.
The information was confirmed by sources linked to the flight that arrived on Sunday from Italy. Passenger data is held by Migrations, the airline and Sanidad de la Frontera, but they were not disseminated.
For a week, the Government had decided to control more comprehensively the passengers arriving on direct flights from Italy, which are 12 weekly : from Alitalia and Aerolineas Argentinas. The man arrived by Alitalia on Wednesday at 8.20.
However, it was shown that the controls are not always effective, since this passenger passed and nobody noticed that he was infected. According to Airport Health sources, the passenger was taken the fever but at that time he had no symptoms.
As it transpired, the patient had been in Milan at the time of the greatest virus circulation crisis. As when no symptoms entered the country, experts believe that the risk of infecting other people is likely to be low.
