(ANSA) - AOSTA, MARCH 3 - The Aosta Valley expedition to K2 will start in June, twenty years after the last 'red-black' climb by Abele Blanc and Marco Camandona. The latter will lead the group of climbers to Pakistan, which will consist of Francois Cazzanelli, Emrik Favre and Francesco Ratti, all three mountain guides. The project involves a double ascent: one at Broad Peak (8,047 meters above sea level) with protagonists Camandona, Cazzanelli and Stefano Stradelli, and one alK2 with the rest of the expedition busy preparing the eCazzanelli route which will join the last. A single base camp will be set up. The plan is to climb the "mountain of the Italians" in speed to avoid staying too long at high altitude and increasing the dangers associated with hypoxia.
