Finally, the coronavirus was present in Argentina. The case was recently confirmed by the Minister of Health of the Nation, Ginés González García, but clarified that it is an "imported" contagion .

And beyond the confidentiality that is appealed to in these situations, shortly after the news was known , some data were also officially revealed about the first local patient carrying the virus that broke out in China and that soon moved to others countries

Namely: according to official information, the patient is a 43-year-old man who arrived last Sunday in the country after a trip he made in Europe and culminated with visits to several cities in Italy, the country of the old continent more complicated by the virus technically referred to as COVID-19.

On the latter, from the Ministry of Health they detailed that they had been between February 19 and 21 in Milan , and between 22 and 29 of the same month in other cities of Italy and Spain .

He returned to Argentina on an Alitalia flight. And Minister González García highlighted, as a positive fact, that he traveled in first class . It is that, as he explained, that limited the possible contacts he may have had inside the plane.

" He filled out the form (which is requested in Ezeiza for passengers entering the country to declare if they perceive symptoms associated with the coronavirus) and complied with all the rules, but often the disease is in incubation and not the patient himself, who was collaborative , he could determine, "justified the national official.

Shortly after returning to the country, the patient lives alone and moved by his own means to the Swiss Medical Center of Barrio Norte, where he was admitted to an isolated room.

The national government indicated that "the case was notified by a private health facility of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires on Monday, March 2 and the isolation was supervised by city health agents."

"The analyzes were carried out by the National Administration of Laboratories and Institutes of Health (ANLIS) 'Dr. Carlos Malbrán' and in less than 24 hours, the confirmatory results were obtained", highlighted from the Nation's health portfolio.

Through a statement, Swiss Medical Group clarified that the facilities in which the patient is staying have no building connection with the Swiss Clinic and Maternity Argentina . And they remembered that the protocol was shot in the framework of what was agreed between the national and Buenos Aires authorities.

"The patient is in good general health and will remain in the institution until defined by the health authorities," they clarified.

For now, the health authorities try to identify those people who could have had contact with the patient, mainly those who shared the first-class cabin on the flight from Italy, to notify them and put them in isolation.
