The leader of the British group finds Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks for the tour The last domino? in the United Kingdom, at the end of the year. A first for thirteen years.

As he had fun on his previous tour, Phil Collins "is not dead yet." Genesis, the legendary progressive rock band of Phil Collins, will be reformed for a tour of the United Kingdom in late 2020, the first in thirteen years, the group announced on social networks. "Genesis is delighted to announce that @tonybanksmusic, @PhilCollinsFeed and #MikeRutherford will be touring the UK in late 2020!" announced the group on Twitter

This trio forms what can be called Genesis second period, after the departure in 1975 of Peter Gabriel from the group founded eight years earlier. Phil Collins, on drums and vocals, Mike Rutherford on guitar and Tony Banks on keyboard, all 69, come together for this tour called The last domino? . They will be joined by Phil Collins' son, Nicholas, 18, on drums, and Daryl Stuermer on guitar and bass.

With hits like I Can't Dance and That's All , Genesis was very successful in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, selling over 130 million albums.

Phil Collins left the group in 1996 and has sold over 100 million albums as a solo artist. He announced his retirement in 2011 after facing many health problems. However, he announced his return to the scene five years later, with a series of concerts. In 2017, he performed in Bercy with the help of a cane. And facetious at will, he will not hesitate to sing in an armchair in this new tour called Not yet dead.

His return to the stage was the trigger for the reformation of the group, said Wednesday his colleague Tony Banks. "Phil has been on tour for two and a half years and it seemed like a good time to discuss it," he told the BBC.

Fans can expect to find the hits that made them successful. "There are songs that you feel you have to play because the audience will feel like they're being cheated if you don't," said Phil Collins.

Genesis' last major European and North American tour dates back to 2007. It was the first of the rock group in fifteen years. This time, the group will perform in Liverpool, Newcastle and London in November, Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow (Scotland) in December. Tickets will go on sale Friday.
