Former Milan champion Ronaldinho was stopped by agents in Paraguay on charges of entering the country with irregular documents. Yesterday late, the police searched the Yacht Resort suite where the former Milan and Barcelona footballer is staying with his brother Roberto de Asssis, in the outskirts of the capital Asuncion. The two had arrived in Paraguay yesterday to present a free health care program for poor children.
In Ronaldinho in 2018, the Brazilian authorities had withdrawn the passport, with the simultaneous ban on travel abroad for 10 months, due to an unpaid fine relating to the construction of a pier in Lake Guaiba, carried out in 2015 without having the relative permits . The document had then been obtained again, upon payment of a million dollar fine.
Passports and other identity documents and mobile phones were seized from the former champion and brother, currently under house arrest, pending the situation to be clarified.
