We are thinking of a peplum. It is not at all that: Alfonso Cuaron recounts his childhood in the eponymous district of Mexico.

In his memory, the 1970s are in black and white. The house was large enough to raise three boys and a girl. The father doctor is often absent. His conferences abroad serve him as an alibi. The mother is brown, feverish. She smokes cigarette after cigarette. Fortunately Cleo, the servant, is there to help him. This girl is silent and attentive. She is the glue of the family. It cracks.

In a few months, nothing will be the same. Time passes on the screen with a romantic slowness. No one is watching TV soaps any more. Maybe that's what growing up is. The laundry dries on the terrace. Cleo will see La Grande Vadrouille
